EGC Construction, a subsidiary of Messer Construction Co., is currently seeking a Process and Utility Piping Laborer, preferably with food and beverage and/or pharmaceutical industry experience, to join our team.

EGC employs more than 120 skilled craft workers that focus on safety, quality and customer satisfaction. We offer general, commercial and industrial construction including electrical work, millwrights, pipe fitters and structural steel detailers.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Focuses on safety and safety practices first and foremost during all tasks assigned
  • Provides labor work needed for a specific jobsite in a positive, efficient and timely manner
  • General and final cleanup on jobsites for projects
  • Distribution / cleanup of power hand-tools / extensions cords
  • Willingness to learn the piping trade and jump in and assist when needed
  • Attends meetings and prepares all necessary daily documentation
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Candidates must have transportation
  • Familiar with basic tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers
  • Proficient math skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Be willing to work within a 50-mile radius. Willingness to travel to other states for work is a plus!
  • Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions

Abilities:

  • Possess all auditory, speaking and communicating capabilities
  • Honest, reliable, dependable and display good character
  • Physical requirements: standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50lbs., seeing and reading

EGC is a merit shop contractor supporting a Team working environment. All Team members will be required from time to time to perform other duties they are qualified to perform, outside of this job description and their normal work function.
