Steel Fabrication Welder - Newport, KY

EGC Construction is looking for both experienced professionals and individuals who are looking to begin their construction career to join our team!

We are currently seeking a steel welder/fabricator that is proficient in metal parts layout, cutting and welding.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding techniques, the ability to interpret blueprints and specifications, and a commitment to delivering high quality work.  This includes structural steel and large building components to small precision metal fabrication. 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: 

• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications.
• Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG and ARC welding.
• Set up welding machines, tools, and equipment needed for fabrication projects.
• Inspect welds and structures to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues in the welding process, recommending solutions to improve efficiency and quality.

Qualifications: 

• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques
• OSHA 10/30 Certified or the ability to obtain certification.
• Proven experience as a Steel Fabrication Welder or similar role.
• Certification in welding or relevant vocational training preferred.
• Previous experience working in the construction industry a plus.

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent Candidates must have transportation and good communication skills.
• Be willing to work within a 50-mile radius. 

Abilities: 

• Possess all auditory, speaking and communicating capabilities
• Physical requirements: standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50lbs., seeing and reading
